❓ Frequently asked questions
Compatibility
Which equipment is compatible with Fuzz?
All OCPP 1.6 JSON charge points and most Modbus TCP/RTU electrical equipment (meters, photovoltaic inverters, batteries). See the compatible hardware list.
Do I need to replace my existing equipment?
No. Fuzz connects to your existing equipment via their standard protocols. This is one of our key differentiators: you keep your hardware, Fuzz adds the intelligence.
Does Fuzz replace a CPO?
No — by design. Fuzz sits between your charge points and the CPO(s) of your choice as an intelligent OCPP proxy. You can connect several operators on the same site, or operate without a CPO thanks to the local whitelist.
Operation
Does the platform work during an internet outage?
Yes. Smart charging runs locally on the controller: protection of your installation and charging continue. The outage only affects remote supervision and market-price optimizations.
Do I need to open ports in my firewall?
No. The controller only establishes outbound encrypted connections to the Fuzz cloud. No inbound flow is required.
How does charging authorization work?
Four modes configurable per site: Plug & Charge (no authentication), CPO (delegation), Local (local whitelist), LocalThenCPO (hybrid). See Access control.
Deployment & support
How long does it take to deploy Fuzz on a site?
Physical installation of the controller takes less than an hour (DIN rail, 12-24V power supply, Ethernet). Equipment configuration is then done from the console, with support from our teams.
How does after-sales service work?
Three levels:
- Automatic auto-remediation: Fuzz Sentinel fixes known faults itself
- Remote diagnostics: logs, built-in testers, equipment access — no travel
- Human support: support@fuzz.energy when needed
Can I get my data back?
Yes, at any time. CSV/ZIP export of all your historical metrics, per site or multi-site. Your data belongs to you. See Your data belongs to you.
